Focus on Aran Knitting

Posted: September 12, 2017

The weather has definitely turned autumnal this week. Luckily we have just had lots of lovely, cozy Aran yarns delivered. Perfect for jumpers, cardigans, scarves or blankets to keep the chill out.

Rico have just launched an affordable aran yarn with 25% wool and 300 metres per ball! Creative Soft Wool Aran comes in 18 colours and has a range of patterns for both knitting and crochet with garments and accessories for women, children and babies. £3.85 per 100g ball. Lois has just cast on one of the jumper patterns so expect to see that on display in the shop soon!

WYS’s Aire Valley aran yarn represents excellent value for money for a high percentage wool blend at just £4.99 per 100g ball with 200 metres per ball. A blend of 75% wool and 25% nylon will mean your garments will be hard wearing and will wash well. West Yorkshire Spinners have also just released the beautiful Croft yarn, a 100% Shetland Wool aran. It is available in 8 tweedy shades and is already proving popular with our customers. The accompanying pattern book has designs by Sarah Hatton for men’s and women’s garments and accessories.
We love the speckled effect of this yarn and it’s surprising softness. Come in and check it out for yourselves!
